420 N. Wabash420 N. Wabash Avenue, The first loft conversion into Class "A" office space in Chicago, this seven story, heavy timber, mill-constructed loft building has 110,000 square feet of retail and office space. Built in 1906 for the Great Western News Company, high ceilings, heavy wooden beams, hardwood decking and large window openings characterize the interior space.

One of the most innovative and extensive loft-office rehabilitation projects in the Chicago area, the renovation included a ziggurat atrium at the main entrance and an extensive, panoramic roof garden. A glass enclosed stairwell connected the retail spaces on the Hubbard and Wabash levels.

Completed in 1984.
